Hundreds of Houses at Pluit Reservoir West Side to Be Demolished

Hundreds of houses at the west side of Pluit Reservoir will be demolished as a follow up to the river normalization work. The demolition is scheduled to be conducted at the end of upcoming September while waiting the Muara Baru Flat ready as relocation place for the residents whose houses to be demolished.

For information, most of those houses are part of RT 19/17, Penjaringan Urban Village, Penjaringan Sub-District, North Jakarta, while the rest are homes that do not have RT and RW.
North Jakarta Mayor, Heru Budi Hartono, said the socialization on the demolition will be done for 10 days on September 1-10. If the residents insisted to stay there, warning letter as well as demolition warrant (SPB) will be sent to the building owners. If those letters ignored, demolition will be carried out.

According to Hartono, the building owners will not get compensation money although their buildings demolished. This is because all this time they had built settlement in a forbidden area. However, they are offered to be relocated to Muara Baru Flat.
“We have coordinated with Jakarta Public Housing and Government’s Buildings Department to prepare flat for relocation place. They said the flat would be ready to be occupied in September,” he uttered.
Meanwhile, Head of Penjaringan Sub-District, Rusdiyanto, informed there are approximately 200 houses that will be demolished. Those houses are located behind Waduk Pluit Park Police Post until Waduk Pluit Pump House.
“The socialization and data recording to know the exact number of houses (to be demolished) haven’t been done. I’m still waiting for assignment letter to carry out the demolition,” he told.
